An In-depth Overview of Salad Options

Let me break down each salad option and tell you why they’re unique.

Carnitas Salad

Chipotle made this salad with slow-cooked pork. The pork is cooked to perfection. Soft and rich. I like how the salt is just enough to balance everything.

Not spicy at all. You will enjoy it best when you add sour cream, corn salsa, and a handful of lettuce. You will also find mild tomato salsa and black beans in the mix. They pair well with the pork.

Looking for comfort food? You have one right here. Another thing I like about this salad is that it will keep you filled for a long time. You can enjoy it in the morning or after a long day at work.

Beef Salad

This one is for my meal lovers. Beef is not really my thing, but I enjoy it a lot when it is prepared well. And boy oh boy, Chipotle did a good job here. The beef is seared, tender, and full of flavor.

Chipotle seasoned it with garlic, chipotle pepper, and cumin. I know it’s just food. But it actually feels fancy.

You will enjoy it more with fajita veggies and medium salsa. The vinaigrette ties all the ingredients together. It has a savory bite, but without being greasy.

Chicken Salad

In my opinion, this is the simplest option on the menu. Want to keep things light and simple? Try this. They used grilled chicken for this mix. Smokey chipotle and citrus were used to marinate the chicken before grilling it.

Chipotle pairs the chicken with black or pinto beans. It’s your call to make. They used vinaigrette to house all the ingredients. It’s one of the top filling options on the menu.

You’ll enjoy it more with a sprinkle of cheese and corn salsa. Want to go extra? Then add a little guac. I like how balanced this salad bowl is. It has just the right amount of protein and flavor. It’s not too heavy. Just enough to satisfy your cravings and fill you up

Vegetarian Salad

The name of this option speaks volumes. You should be expecting more of veggies. It doesn’t contain meat. Just loads of vegetables.

Fajita veggies, salsa, lettuce, and beans are the core ingredients in this mix. I usually add more guac or cheese to elevate the richness. I consider this a lighter option than the others.

You can spice things further by adding pinto beans, mild tomato salsa, and corn salsa. I recommend this one as a low-carb meal.

Barbacoa Salad

Another great option for my beef lovers. Like the other options, the beef here is also slow-cooked. They spiced and marinated it for better taste and flavor. I like how the flavor always hits the right spots.

The barbacoa salad tastes better with black beans, brown rice, and green tomatillo salsa. Another thing I like is how the meat pairs well with all the other ingredients in the bowl.

Sofritas Salad

Don’t want to eat meat for personal reasons? That doesn’t mean you can miss out on Chipotle’s delicious salads. You can enjoy the sofritas salad.

It’s tofu. Not boring tofu though. They shredded and cooked the tofu with spices and chili. This gives it a smoky, deep flavor.

The last time I had this salad, I tried it with extra fajita veggies and brown rice. It’s a combo everyone should try.

The texture is not as hard as the meat salad. But it’s still filling. Want it bold? Add the vinaigrette. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this bowl of goodness. It’s for everyone.

How to Customize Your Chipotle Salad?

One of the things I like most about Chipotle is the fact that I can customize my meals. Salads included.

You can swap, add, or remove anything. Not cool with the black beans? Just ask for it to be removed or replaced with pinto. Want both? Just ask.

If you want them to add white rice or brown rice, they can do that. But that would make it more like a burrito bowl.

You’re in the driver’s seat of this ride. Go ahead and build a bowl that works for your taste.

Conclusion

Simple. Fresh. And satisfying. That’s how best I can describe Chipotle salads. They are also fully customizable. Allowing you to remove or add anything you want. So, tell me, how do you like your salads?
